Prepare for and implement weekend STEM experiments and projects with youth. (Supplies and instruction are provided) Prepare and deliver math and science lessons using supplied materials for grades 4 - 7th. Serve as a chaperone during online activities and facilitate spotlighting speakers during online class discussions. Supervise all assigned aspects of the campers day including lesson set up, projects and preparation for up coming activities. The instructor must comply with camp policies and standards of conduct
Good character, integrity, adaptability, enthusiasm, high energy and a sense of humor. Minimum of 2 years of college, preferable in a STEM field. Effective interpersonal and communication skills. Experience teaching, mentoring or tutoring preferred. Must be able to pass a CORI test.
The Math and Science instructors will be supervised by the Program Director. The Math and Science instructor will be required to attend an orientation session before the program begins. They will also be required to be available during the prearranged weekend academies.
Program dates are usually on Saturday Mornings and planned in advance between the months of September and May
